Animatic

the animatic here isn't fully finished but is giving the feel of the look and things we are going for for our music video. for the most part it will be filmed on the green screen here  at Massey but some of the shots in the beginning that will just have white backgrounds will be done on the white screen thing.

Ideas

For this project  I will be creating a composting piece to go in a music video for a cover of a song by Muse called Futurism. it will be covered be a friends sister and her band that will soon be recorded.

Creative Compositing

Aim:
This brief will allow you to explore compositing techniques through the
integration of various forms of digital and analog media including 2D/3D
media, special effects and video within a short motion graphic clip.

In this brief students will analyse the influence gathered from the theoretical
discussions and research precedents recorded in their workbooks, and
develop a series of effects and compositing tests that will inform their final
piece.
Students will then use concept development and storytelling techniques to
create a short scene making use of their successful test footage. This project
provides the opportunity for students to explore and test a number of existing
compositing techniques and aesthetics to inform an innovative and unique
1-2 minute motion graphics piece.

Project Brief:
Compositing has become integral to almost every type of commercial or
private production - television, film, music video, even amatuer, web-based
content. From full CG sets, to set extensions; character replacement,
animated characters, explosions and digital effect animation, physical models
and props, compositing lends a hand whenever it can, often cutting costs in
terms of set dressing and location filming.
Students are encouraged to experiment with a number of techniques and
make use of the green screen studio, audio facilities, HD video cameras and
computer labs.

Brief 1 (50%)

Pre-Production portfolio (concept / production techniques)
Your pre-production portfolio should include:
• Script (screenplay) or storyboard (shopping list)
• Concept and moodboards.
• Locations, characters, crew confirmed.
• Production schedule (internal deadlines rough-cut)
• Music, sound score, audio composition ideas and experimentation.
• Special Effects technical rider (animation/screen test)
• Rationale: Outlining concept of special effects references to compositing
and aesthetic choices (500 words).

Brief 2 (50%)

Final Video.
Produce an approximately 1-2 minute motion graphics scene that

incorporates advanced compositing tecniques and a solid design approach.
